In light of World Heart Day, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched an awareness campaign to raise awareness among the public about the dangers of cardiovascular disease and how to prevent it.
As part of the campaign, the DHA also provided a number of free medical consultations and medical tests by DHA doctors and nurses across its facilities.
Commenting on the campaign, HE Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of the DHA said that heart disease poses a big challenge for the international health sector as it is the leading cause of death worldwide.
He stressed the importance of awareness and early prevention and treatment as the World Health Organization statistics found that early detection can prevent cardiovascular diseases by 80 per cent.
He added that the DHA exerts all its capabilities and efforts to provide quality preventive, awareness and treatment health services in line with its strategies and goals to achieve a healthier and happier society.
DHA hospitals and centers took part in the event by providing awareness, free tests and consultations to the public.
