DHA To Build Four-Storey Building With 127 Specialised Outpatient Clinics

The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) Dubai Hospital will be expanding its services with a four-storey building dedicated to 127 specialised outpatient clinics.

The building will include four floors, which will be home to 127 specialized clinics in the fields of ophthalmology, Internal medicine, orthopaedics, cardiovascular, endocrine, tumors, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and reproductive medicine.

The DHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Islamic Bank to support the initiative by donating AED25 million to build the building.

The MoU was signed on Monday at the DHA headquarters in Dubai in the attendance of H.E Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of the DHA and H.E Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Chairman of Emirates Islamic, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD.

Mr Ahmad Al Nuami, CEO of DHA’s Joint Corporate Support Services sector and Mr Salah Mohammed Amin Abdullah CEO of Emirates Islamic Bank signed the MoU.

This expansion project aims to move existing specialized medical services in the hospital to the new building, in line with strategy of the DHA to enhance treatment and diagnostic services and increase capacity to meet growing demand from the UAE and aboard.

The new building will also help avoid crowdedness, as in 2018, the DHA reported that 2.17 million customers visited outpatient clinics across its facilities, out of which, 360,000 visited Dubai Hospital’s outpatient clinics.

Commenting on the MoU, Al Qutami said that the authority appreciates the support of Emirate Islamic Bank adding that the bank’s contribution to the authority’s projects and initiatives reflects its noble goals and keenness to support the authority in serving people and ensure their happiness.

He added that the generous contribution from Emirates Islamic Bank guarantees the completion of the project on time, and in accordance with international standards.

Commenting on the contribution, Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Chairman of Emirates Islamic, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD, said: “We are extremely pleased to contribute to Dubai Health Authority in order to expand the facilities at Dubai Hospital and offer quality medical care for the community. This is in keeping with our objective to support charitable causes via the Emirates Islamic Charity Fund. We hope that our contribution will help effect positive change and provide patients a world-class healthcare experience in a unique medical facility.”

The specialized clinics will have the capacity of 254 patients per hour. The radiology facility will have the capacity of 46 patients per hour.

The 32,100 square meter building, which is two and half times bigger than existing specialized clinics in Dubai Hospital is expected to start in the first quarter of 2020.

The ground floor will include a lab, radiology facility, pharmacy, cafeteria etc….

The first floor will include 34 specialized clinics for ENT, Ophthalmology, Internal medicine, Orthopaedics. The second floor will include 43 specialized clinics for cardiovascular, endocrine, tumours and surgery. The third floor will include 50 specialized clinics obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and reproductive medicine and the fourth floor will be for future expansions.

The new clinics will focus on having plenty of natural light and will be surrounded by greenery to provide a comfortable environment for patients. It will rely on sustainable energy. Its will be “People of Determination” friendly to ensure easy access.

The DHA stressed that customer’s satisfaction and trust in its facilities has led to the increasing demand on its hospitals, medical clinics and centers.

This trust drives the authority to continue on expanding and developing its services, facilities, programs and initiatives to provide quality diagnostic and treatment services and meet the growing demand of customers who come to Dubai Hospital to benefit from its skilled doctors and state-of-the-art technologies.
