Saudi German Hospitals Group has successfully attended to the medical needs of the participants at this year’s edition of the Dakar Rally, the annual rally organized by the Amaury Sport Organization. Under the terms of an agreement signed withSGH group in December last year, participants of the off-road endurance event needing immediate medical services shall be treated and attended to by SGH Group. The hospital group is best equipped to provide medical coverage for such events not only because of its world-class medical expertise but also, because it has the largest network of hospitals across the Kingdom.Geographically the hospital is dispersed across the entire country and can be reached by a large percentage of the population. Similarly, the Dakar Rally route runs across many different locations in the Kingdom.
The hospital was able to provide medical attention and care for several medical cases and injuries during the rally’s exclusive 13-day run. These were handled by SGH hospitals in Riyadh, Jeddah and Hail. The exclusive one-year contract can be renewed automatically–ensuring that proper medical care will be administered to Dakar Rally racers. The agreement was signed in the presence of GouramAssathiany, Director of International Affairs and Sporting Events, Mutuaide Assistance Company and Dr. Ahmed Shebl, CEO, MEAHCO.
Makarem Sobhi Batterjee, President and Vice Chairman, SGH Group, said, “We are proud to have signed this new partnership agreement with the organizers of the Dakar Rally, known worldwide for being a top endurance event that tests the best of rally drivers. The forging of this new alliance demonstrates our commitment towards providing world-class medical services whether it is in our hospitals and clinics, or by reaching out to our communities in different ways such as sports and wellness activities. These collaborations that SGH Group has made with world’s top sporting events reflects our continuing efforts to render world class healthcare services to Saudi and worldwide communities. We strongly support the Kingdom’s sports and wellness efforts in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”
The newly signed agreement follows after similar partnerships signed with top sporting events such as Al-Ahli Sports Club, Ettifaq FC, Damac FC, and Abha Club. Saudi German Hospitals Group (SGH) has also previously signed an agreement to be part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network–reinforcing its access to world-class medical service offerings for its patients in Saudi Arabia and the region.
