Sheba Medical Centre And Medcare Women & Children Hospital Lead UAE – Israel Collaboration With First Ever Webinar To Advance Learning On Women’s Health Issues

Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital facility in the Middle East, and ranked by Newsweek magazine as one of the World’s Top 10 Best Hospitals collaborates with Medcare Women & Children Hospital, which is a part of the GCC region’s largest healthcare system, on a first-ever educational webinar to enhance learnings on women’s care.

International experts from Medcare Hospitals and Clinics and Sheba Medical Centre addressed a gathering of medical professionals from the region in an accredited educational webinar titled “Paradigm Shift in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)”. The ground-breaking educational course/webinar, the first of its kind between Sheba and Medcare since the signing of the Abraham Accords, was led by Prof. Jaron Rabinovici, Head of Department and Vice-Chairman of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sheba Medical Center, and Dr. Keren Ofir, Director of Sheba’s High-Risk Pregnancy Clinics. The webinar was moderated by Dr Paramjit Luthra, Head of Obstretics and Gynaecology and Dr Ahmed Abdel Hameed, Medical Director at Medcare Women & Children Hospital.

The webinar discussed the impact of PCOS on women’s fertility and how it affects their health in general. The experts shared the latest advances of PCOS, and the changing trends toward a multi-disciplinary approach in its management, with a focus on improving the care provided to patients.

In March 2021, Medcare Women & Children Hospital had signed a partnership agreement with Sheba Medical Centre to facilitate exchange of scientific knowledge between both institutions across various specialties, as well as collaboration amongst doctors to further enhance the quality of care for the patients and encourage advanced medical training.

Yoel Har-Even, Director of Sheba Global, the international business division at Sheba Medical Center said, “During the past 18 months, Sheba has been enhancing its efforts in the GCC region by offering a variety of services, with a specific focus on medical education. We have found Medcare to be one of the leading healthcare systems with a focus on teaching. Therefore, our partnership and collaboration with Medcare is of the utmost importance in Dubai, the UAE and beyond. The objective is to collaborate with our partner to achieve outstanding and comprehensive care to the community.  We are looking forward to exploring many new opportunities to support our colleagues throughout the GCC.”

Dr. Shanila Laiju, Group CEO of Medcare Hospital & Medical Centres added, “Healthcare is an industry that depends on people all working together to deliver the best possible outcome for patients. Through this collaboration model between medical practitioners from different countries, we will continue to provide advanced healthcare services to our patients at Medcare Women & Children Hospital which has been acclaimed as one of the top medical facilities in the country, specialized in women care. We want to keep discussing these incredibly important topics with our partners to enhance our knowledge collectively. This endeavour will no doubt create a positive contribution to the UAE’s goal of ensuring that healthcare providers are offering both residents and tourists an enriching medical experience when it comes to quality of clinical care.”
